NeuroPlay Project: First Year Highlights

The first year of the NeuroPlay project has been full of exciting activities aimed at fostering intergenerational connection through innovative cognitive-motor exercises.

SPE BALKAN SKI Workshop, Slovenia, March 2024

The NeuroPlay workshop days were held at the SPE BALKAN SKI conference. Over three days, participants engaged in presentations, a roundtable, and hands-on workshops on ski slopes, exploring how intergenerational activities can be introduced to foster year-round well-being. The event included a dynamic workshop led by KiSi in collaboration with the Slovenian Alpine Skiing Commission Demonstrators, focusing on interactive training methods and feedback from 35 participants.

NeuroPlay Summer Camp, Slovenia, July 2024

The NeuroPlay summer camp in Fiesa, Slovenia, brought together children and seniors for a three-day event. Activities included kayaking, SUP sessions, and coordination drills, all designed to enhance motor control, balance, and collaboration. Participants practiced skills that will support their involvement in future events, such as the upcoming winter camp.

National Workshops, Slovenia, 2024

NeuroPlay conducted 6 national workshops in Slovenia, collaborating with the Center for Daily Activities in Koper. Activities included kayaking, AcroYoga, and balance exercises, aimed at promoting motor and cognitive skills for both children and seniors. The workshops demonstrated the power of intergenerational connection, blending physical activity with cognitive challenges to benefit participants of all ages.

This first year has proven that NeuroPlay’s methods are not just fun but also foster intergenerational bonds and promote health through engaging activities for grandchildren and grandparents. We look forward to building on this success in the year ahead.
